About
My name is Ankur Sethi. I'm a writer and frontend developer based in Bangalore.
I've worked as an independent consultant for 15 years, helping my clients build complex browser applications used by millions of people. I've been fortunate to work with Aditya Birla, Paytm, and Pratham Books, among others. A selected list of my previous work is available.
When I'm not working, I like to read, listen to music, and play video games. I'm big on local communities, and I spend my weekends participating in one or more of them.
I like to write. A lot. In addition to blogging regularly on this website, I occasionally take time off from work to focus on writing fiction and poetry. I'm not very good, but that's not the point.
What I do
- Frontend application development (primarily React with TypeScript, open to others).
- Modernizing legacy web applications.
- Web performance optimization.
- Internal training and workshops.
- Code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship.

Elsewhere on the web
I'm a regular user of GitHub, Goodreads, Telegram, Signal, Hacker News, and Lobsters.
I'm an occasional user of Mastodon and Bluesky.
I rarely use Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit. I generally prefer to stay off social media that is intentionally designed to be addictive.
