About
Hello. I'm Ankur Sethi, a writer, product engineer, and frontend developer based in Bangalore.
I've worked as an independent consultant for 15 years, helping my clients build complex browser applications used by millions of people. I've been fortunate to work with Aditya Birla, Paytm, and Pratham Books, among others. Learn more about my work here.
I run IndieWebClub Bangalore with Tanvi and Abhinav. I believe everyone who does creative work should have a personal website.
I love hearing from people! Say hello at contact@ankursethi.com.
What I do
- Frontend application development.
- Training and workshops (currently interested in teaching TypeScript, React, modern CSS, the Jujutsu VCS, and agentic engineering).
- Modernizing legacy web applications.
- Web performance optimization.
- Code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship.
I prefer building with standard browser APIs where possible. If I can replace 100 lines of JavaScript with 5 lines of plain HTML and CSS, I count that as a win.
When I use frameworks, I like to reach for React and TypeScript. Sometimes I use Tailwind, sometimes I use SASS. I have a soft spot for Astro, Vite, Zod, and Tauri.
Elsewhere on the web
I'm a regular user of GitHub, Goodreads, Telegram, Hacker News, and Lobsters.
I'm an occasional user of Mastodon, Bluesky, Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit. I generally prefer to stay off social media.
